Essay1-03a Lilo&Stich

I watched Lilo&Stich. I think animation teach me about important thing. There are some themes in the film; relationship, Hawaiian culture and gene manipulation. I want to review about this film and think about these themes.

First of all, if we don't have relationships, we can't live. We can't live alone. We have various relationships, for example family, friendship and a neighborhood etc. Lilo and sister lost both there parents at the same time. Then Lilo lives alone with her sister. It is very difficult thing, because they too young and small income. But they support each other. If I lost my family, I can't live I think. "Family" is the most important theme in the film. Lilo and sister have family, but only two people. Stitch doesn't have family. He looks they then he want to family. Family is natural I think, but that thinking is wrong. Family is very precious. I think that basic relationship is family. I was deeply impressed by Lilo's father words. He said "the family is always together" Lilo hasn't friends, because she is very unique. Sometimes unique person is left out of the group. I have a bitter experience too. It is very difficult to build a good relationship.

Next, I am interest about culture. In the film, there are many interesting Hawaiian culture. There are various cultures in the world. Hawaiian culture is a familiar to Japanese. Every year, many Japanese people visit to Hawaii. Hawaii has many beautiful places and marine sports. Lilo swims in the beautiful sea and dance the hula. I want to spend this life. Animation is one of the step, introduce about the culture.

In the end, I am afraid about gene manipulation, because it naturally contradicts. Stich made by Dr.Jumba Jookiba, he is an alien. He made for destroy everything. First he reveals he's brutality. So he was banished from the planet, but Stich is not wrong. He is a living thing, not an arm or eccentric. Today gene manipulation is a controversial. I think it is necessary to value the life. I think this thing is very difficult opinion.

Lilo&Stich is very simple animation I think, but it was made to think. Some themes are important and need to think. I want to thinking about these themes again.
